What is the process of a background check?

We use the Missouri Highway Patrol for background checks. We need full name and Date of birth and SSN if able to provide.

The check is $15, the Notarized paper copy mailed to the Sanctuary is an extra $5, the $4.00 is for taxes/fees we are charged. We do NOT profit on these.

If you would like to order your own background check through MACHS website and bring in proof, please absolutely do.

What people are exempt from the background check?

People who have recently had one done for a profession or just in general. Bring a screen shot to your first visit and when we make your account with us we will note yours is complete.

Or you can bring in your CAC if you are active duty, Govt. Contractor, CDC employee.

Civilians that have an educators badge from their school are good to go as well.

Law enforcement members only need to show badge once.

We are all for you saving money! If you have a current background check then we will absolutely honor it!

Anyone under the age of 18 does not need a background check.

Why?

Because this offers you a peace of mind moment to know if you want to be in a place and not feel, “guarded” you can.

As a parent, and someone who has experienced trauma firsthand, being able to offer a place that takes a step to protect all here is an honor. Finding a place to decompress, and express yourself is a step in regaining a positive headspace.

Because why not? It’s not for everyone so if you don’t want a check done, you do not need to be here.
